About 'In the pen'

'In The Pen' Antique, Collectors & Local Arts / Crafts Fair is the brainchild of Sharon Mason, owner of Junk & Disorderly in Hatherleigh and Nikki Bradshaw who ran Relics of Ilfracombe . The first Fair was held on 28th June 2011 and since then has gone from strength to strength.

The Pen setting is quite unique. It was the sheep auction area and sheep are still run through on Monday mornings to be sold after which there is a hosing down process and removal of gates etc. to set up for the Fair which is held on a Tuesday morning 9am -1pm. Traders can rent a pen or multiple pens to sell their wares from.

In the same building and at the same time Vicks of Hatherleigh hold their general collective auction from 10am onwards where a vast range of items are put up for sale. This is accompanied by a Traditional Outside Market 7am – 1 pm where people flock to buy anything from a jar of homemade marmalade to a live duck/chicken or rabbit.
